Bhutan

Bhutan

Bhutan is the last great Himalayan Kingdom, a land of mystery and magic. Where a traditional Buddhist culture carefully adapts to the world around it. During divinations, monks check their phones and giant protective penises are painted on the front doors of many homes. You will find that the Bhutanese are well-educated, have a good sense of humor, and know a lot about what's going on in the world. It's the mix of old and new that makes Bhutan so interesting.

India

India

India's diverse combination of cultures, spiritual beliefs, festivals, architecture, and landscapes will linger long after you return home. India's landscapes are as varied as its cultures. From the Himalayas' snow-capped peaks to the tropical south's palm-lined beaches, there's much to do outside.

Maldives

Maldives

The Maldives has some of the world's nicest beaches. They're on practically every one of the country's 1200 islands, and they're stunning. You won't find this kind of powder sand and blue-green sea anywhere else on the earth. This aspect alone draws over a million visitors annually to this little, secluded Indian Ocean paradise

Nepal

Nepal

If you're a mountain fan, the Nepal Himalayas are the pinnacle. There are rough trails to Everest, the Annapurnas, and more in the Himalayas, making this a popular place to climb. The end of a long day of hiking in the mountains will be followed by a nice lunch and a cozy lodge. A slice of warm apple pie will also be there

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka

UNESCO World Heritage Sites are found in very few places, and there are only a few that have as many (8 in all). Legendary temples that hide in caves or perch on top of high mountains show Sri Lanka's more than 2000-year history. From Galle to Trincomalee, colonial strongholds can be found all the way across the country.
